Cooperation under the conventions

Denmark has acceded to three conventions under which you can apply for the return of your child.

Some countries have acceded to all three conventions like Denmark, but please note that this does not apply to all countries. Regardless to which country the child is abducted, you may contact the Child Abduction Unit. If Denmark cooperates with the relevant country under the conventions, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Senior Citizens will transmit your application for return of your child. If the child is abducted to a country which has not acceded to the relevant convention, we will involve the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because in such cases the ability to help lies with them.
