Cooperation under the conventions
Denmark has acceded to three conventions under which you can apply for the return of your child.
Some countries have acceded to all three conventions like Denmark, but please note that this does not apply to all countries. Regardless of which country the child is abducted to, you can contact the Child Abduction Unit. If Denmark cooperates with the relevant country under the conventions, the Ministry for Children and Social Affairs will transmit your application for return of your child. If the child is instead abducted to a country which has not acceded to the relevant convention, we will involve the Ministry of Foreign Affairs because they are the ones who can help in these types of cases.
